I have to be honest. When I first saw these cookies on Bakergirl, I was a little skeptical.
They are chocolate chip cookies with Oreo chunks in them.
This photo makes them look deliciously chewy and gooey, but I was worried about what Oreos would do to their texture. I thought they might make the cookies annoyingly crunchy just in certain parts, like nuts do.

But I needn’t have worried. And I shouldn’t have been skeptical.
Because these cookies are awesome. Did you hear me? AWESOME.
They taste like cookies and cream. And like chocolate chip cookies at the same time.
Its kind of like having the best of both worlds. Actually, scrap that. These cookies ARE the best of any world.

They are chewy and gooey and chunky and crisp just around the edges.
The Oreos, and their filling, do great things to this cookie. I can’t even describe it to you.

I love these cookies so much that I want to go and bake another batch (because they are almost all gone!). They are quite possibly some of the best cookies I have ever made and ever eaten (huge call).

Dunk them into milk. Eat them raw. Eat them cooked. Eat them the next day (if there’s any left!) because they stay delicious. Whatever you like. Just go and eat them.

CHOCOLATE AND OREO CHUNK COOKIES
Adapted from Bakergirl.
220g unsalted butter, softened (1 cup)
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 cups plain flour
2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips or chunks
1/2 cup white chocolate chips or chunks
15 Oreos, roughly chopped into about 6 chunks
Preheat the oven to 180 C and line baking trays with parchment paper.
Beat the butter and sugars together using an electric mixer until combined. Add the egg and vanilla and mix until incorporated.
Mix in the flour, salt and baking soda on a low speed until combined. Add the chocolate chunks and the Oreo pieces and mix until just combined (this is some of the best dough I’ve ever tasted).
Scoop tablespoons of the mixture onto the lined trays and bake for 10, until the edges are just golden.
Eat up! Makes 36 cookies.

Aahhhaa!!! Theat are simply Wowsome !!!! Irresistible to the core !!!!
These look aaaaaa-mazing!
Thanks!
I just made these cookies, and they are RIDICULOUS! Thank you so much for sharing the recipe. You’re right, the dough is probably some of the best I’ve ever tasted.
Oh wow that makes me so happy to hear that! Thanks for the lovely feedback
you’re making me want to go and make them again!
These cookies are amazing in taste but when i made them they spread and looked like lumpy pancakes whilst baking!! i was so disappointed because they taste great but didn’t turn out like i wanted, any suggestions on how to keep they chunky like they photos?
I’m not sure how they would have spread Zoe?! Try weighing the ingredients to make sure you have enough flour and not too much butter etc., there’s a conversions page on my blog to convert cups into grams. Also, try refrigerating the dough before baking, it stops some of the spreading. And make sure you scoop or roll the dough into balls; don’t flatten it on the trays before baking.
