Homemade Peanut Butter

We are making peanut butter today!

All by ourselves.

And you need all of two things:
1) Peanuts
2) A food processor

Easy!

I made peanut butter for the first time in Berlin earlier this year when I had a baking day with Erin from Texanerin Baking.

I was absolutely amazed as the food processor whizzed and whizzed and turned her peanuts into a spread.

I couldn’t believe how easy it was to make peanut butter! And it was so delicious, we all stood around eating it straight out of the processor with spoons.

Erin and I made these healthy peanut butter chocolate chip cookie dough bites using our peanut butter that day.

I loved them and wanted to make them again at home and share them with you.

But I’m a little lazy. So I used the stuff out of the jar. And it was no good. The cookie bites baked up way too oily.

So I had to just deal and make my own peanut butter at home. And I’ve never looked back. It’s so much better than the stuff in the jar!

Let’s get started.

HOMEMADE PEANUT BUTTER
You can make as little or as much peanut butter as you like! I normally just whizz up 165g (6 oz), which gives me a little over 1/2 cup of peanut butter to make these with.

Ingredients:
Peanuts, roasted and skinless

Put your peanuts in a food processor and turn it on.

It will go through a few stages, from a crumble, to a ball, until it finally turns into a smooth paste. The whole process will take about 5 minutes. Take a look:

Spread it on toast, use it to make these, or put it in an airtight jar and store in the fridge for a few weeks. Enjoy!
