Double Chocolate Chip, Espresso, Coconut Hot Cross Buns

So I have a confession to make. I wasn’t going to share a hot cross bun recipe with you this year. I made you some Chocolate Chip Hot Cross Buns (my faves!) last Easter. This year, I was going to make you something a little different (and I’m working on it, so if all goes to plan, you’ll be getting those tomorrow). Anyway, so I wasn’t going to share another … Continue reading →

Lemon Coconut Bars

Okay so it has been AGES since I last posted and I am SO sorry! It has been a slightly ridiculous week. Actually really crazy. I took on a few extra shifts at the new cafe I’m working at. The days are pretty long and intense in that hot little kitchen, but I got to bake a few of my own recipes to sell in store, which was really fun! … Continue reading →

Caramel Slice

Caramel slice is pretty much a staple in most Australian cafes. It appears to be somewhat similar to millionaire’s shortbread. I have never made millionaire’s shortbread, but from the pictures I’ve seen on other blogs, it looks pretty similar. Caramel slice (slice is the word Australians use for all types of bars) is delicious. It involves a biscuit base made from coconut, sugar, flour and melted butter. Chunky Chocolate Oat Cookies

Sometimes you just need some good old, classic comfort. Whether its because its cold and rainy, you’re feeling unwell, or you’re just having a bad week, a bit of love and some familiar comfort food can make you feel a little better. This particular week was a pretty bad one. On top of the bad week, everything I tried to bake was just going wrong too. Do you believe that … Continue reading →

Chocolate Caramel Bars

I made these recently to take to a friend’s barbeque. They were such a hit! My friend’s sister’s boyfriend (that’s a mouthful) cooked a really great barbeque, with prawns (shrimp), Peri Peri chicken, wings, lamb skewers and spicy sausages. We sat around in my friend’s awesome outdoor patio, drinking beers, talking, and eating yummy meat and salads as it begun to thunder and hail and storm. Lucky we were covered. … Continue reading →

Chocolate Hazelnut Truffles

This is my 100th post on my little blog! Yay! I thought I’d celebrate by sharing my favourite truffle recipe. These truffles are the easiest things you will ever make, and absolutely everyone loves them. There is no baking time, no resting time, no melting ingredients, no mixer. These are a one-bowl affair. I’m a huge fan of these, and I’ve been making them since I was about 12. The … Continue reading →

Caramel Chocolate Truffles

Merry Christmas! It is Christmas Eve, the tree is lit up and carols are playing. Miracle on 34th Street is about to come on TV and Mum and I are busy baking in the kitchen. A couple of days ago, I made a big batch of gingerbread dough and left it in the fridge so I could roll and cut it today so we would have fresh gingerbread biscuits. Unfortunately, … Continue reading →
