I have something very exciting to share with you today (apart from an inside view into one of my cakes up there!) – it’s a Butter Baking behind-the-scenes video! It is a snippet of my day-to-day, creating cakes and desserts, styling, shooting and blogging. So without further ado, here is the video (we can chat more after you’ve seen it!):

I haven’t told you all yet but a couple of months ago, I quit my full time pastry job. GASP!
I still quite can’t believe it myself, but I really needed a change, and I really, really needed more time to work on my custom caking (and when you work 50 or so hours a week, including Saturdays, there’s not really much freedom to make people wedding cakes and the like).
I’m still working part time, doing digital marketing and the like for a catering company, which I’m really enjoying. After starting at 5am for so long, I almost fell of my chair when my new boss told me I’d be starting at 10am. Not even kidding.
The part time gig leaves me with part time Butter Baking focus, and one of the things I’ve really been wanting to work on (aside from cakes) is creating more baking videos for you!
Serendipitously, I also recently met a super talented videographer, Louise Mullins, who has just moved here from London, and she was keen to shoot together.
We thought the best way to start a new series of YouTube videos was with an introduction to what I do!
